![]() ![]() ![]() 48 inasmuch that it just truncated bits of the crossfaded video - I've had to go back and ensure the video clips are correctly aligned, what a chore that was. The crossfade effect had been changed in 4. Unfortunately, the saga doesn't end there (with 4.48 successfully generating my video). Interestingly, I had an older VideoPad folder which had its own version of videopad.exe and that run just fine (alongside my 4.58) but was soooo old it would not open my project file and prompted me to upgrade to a more recent version! But it still indicates that making copies of the installation/runtime folder will allow you to run multiple versions side-by-side? ![]() It worked too, so my video can now be generated and much more quickly (just 16 minutes, rather than the 25 minutes or so using 4.58, don't know what's going on there). I didn't re-enter my licence key, it just knew about me. I just reinstalled a previous version (4.48) by running the exe I had in the Program Files (x86) folder and it overwrote my 4.58 version. Using 4.58 but will re-install earlier version if required to do so. "Failed" doesn't really help me diagnose the issue (nor you, I expect). As I say, this may not be relevant but just something I noticed. The settings I'm using are the settings I've always used.Įdit: It gets to 100% but the green bar is not quite complete (just a couple of pixels remain) - it's at that point it fails.Įdit2: I've also noticed, but may not be anything do to with this, that my CPU utilisation is no longer 100% when generating the video, but hovers around the 40% mark - this seems odd to me as surely it should be totally occupying the CPU when generating a video (or is it now slower than before?). I'm getting panicky now that I can't generate this video, what can I do please? (Don't ask me to send you the entire project, it's several GB in size, about 20 mins long). mp4 format (mpeg, 8192bps, 1920x1080, 25fps, audio 128kbps) and it has "failed" several times, despite trying several alternative settings. Of course there must be sufficient clip length to create the overlap for the transition's selected duration.Just tried (several times) to generate (export) my video to. The soundtracks can also be set to crossfade under Options. This choice produces a smooth transition without any disturbing still images and is Ideal for video clips. The timeline is shortened as a consequence and clips further along the timeline may have their position disturbed and should be grouped or fixed to prevent this. This option is OK to use between image clips where there is no movement.Ģ) "Move clip location" The clips are overlapped by the required amount on the same track and the transition is made over the overlapped portion of both clips. Frames from the two clips are used to cover the effect as described above. In version 4.58 adding a transition between clips now gives you the choice of.ġ) "Freeze the clip location." The transition behaves as in ealier versions of VP. The crossfade now was perfect but at the expense of making the timeline shorter and having to use two tracks. ![]() The only way around this unwanted effect was to place clip 2 on the overlay track, pull it back over clip 1 to create an overlap it and then fade it in. This method of transition however, worked very well for images where there was no actual movement but video clips would show the still frames as the clips faded in and out which was often commented on. The total length of the timeline did not change and consequently edited portions elswhere on the timeline were not disurbed. a Crossfade) meant that clips remained fixed in position and the effect was created (in this case) by fading out clip 1 over the first still frame of clip 2 and then fading in clip 2 over the last still frame of clip 1. Prior to version 4.58, adding a transition (e.g. I don't understand what those options mean." "I see an option for Video Clip Transitioning where the choices are "Generate Freeze Frames", "Move Clips to Overlap" or "Ask Me". ![]()
